 HOLA, guess who's (somewhat) back.  The hiatus is still on, but I figured I should actually post here so you people still know things are on. 

I just got moved into my new apartment downtown, and I'm in the process of settling in, getting some things taken care of, and working a LOT (coworker is "incapacitated" and can't work for a while--I gotta pick up the slack).  I've been brainstorming on this project for some time, there's been some changes in the "crew" and I'll be releasing some bigger details on things VERY soon.  I apologize to those of you who have asked for details via e-mail or messenger and haven't gotten anything. Life has been terribly hectic for me, and everything else has taken a back seat for a while now.

I can't give an estimate on when I'll be able to post more details, but I'll try and keep this updated regularly (once a week maybe?).

 Please excuse me for the lack of updates and work on this project.  I recently went through a job change and got pretty sick, so I've been rather preoccupied...  Once things get readjusted in my personal life, I'll be making an update on things and sending information to those of you still waiting.

Everyone who is interested in jumping aboard this game project, drop me a message or an email and let's get down the business.

This LiveJournal is no longer my place to rant and rave for me. I'm converting it to a progress report on what I've worked on and finished towards this project. Any and ALL help is welcomed. If you aren't sure what you can do but are still interested in helping, send me a message anyway. I'm positive there's something we can find together.

Here is a basic overview of what I have visualized for this game:

The concept for this game is sort of like Shadow of the Colossus meets Final Fanasy XIII-- even if you didn't like FFXIII or SotC, please keep reading.

When the player first starts this game, they, and the main character in the game, have no idea where they are, who they are, or why they're in the place they are. They simply are. The biggest thing I want to do is link the minds of the player and the two main characters, Luken and Lia the way it was done with Shadow of the Colossus's Wander. You sought to complete Wander's goal because you wanted him to be happy and you wanted to see if things would turn out as planned, right? In this game, you come to understand Luken and Lia's motivation for what they're doing and they in turn become a part of you. You are playing the game because you want to see what happens and you want things to turn out the way the characters desire; you'll want to recover Luken's memories as bad as he does--you'll want Lia to survive her disease as desperately as she does--enough to challenge the "fragments."

Here is where the similarities with FFXIII and the project come in. You have no idea what happened to Luken or what he is in the state he's in (and frankly, he doesn't either). With each fragment (that's a term you'll become very familiar with. It's sort of my equivalent of a colossi) destroyed, Luken remembers things (akin to the "thirteen days" in FFXIII), and the plot thickens as he realizes there's something inside him. Destroying the fragments to recover your memories began as something to do for the sake of yours and Luken's curiosity--and to assist the woman (Lia) who saved your life.

But after a certain point, you find that there is a much deeper meaning behind the source of the fragments, and this thing inside Luken. You learn that he had a life before he awakened in the wasteland. He had love, he had dreams, and he had a certain task to accomplish.

While most of Luken's purpose is told from the first person perspective as each memory is recovered, you also get to learn of Lia, the mysterious nomadic girl with the weight of the world on her shoulders. While she seems a bit standoffish at first, you learn just why she is so distant and why she alone was trying so desperately to destroy the fragments, even before coming across Luken.
